Dear person who wrote this confession, you must not have ever given much thought to Sansa’s character, have you? If Sophie is as stiff as a board, wouldn’t that make her performance perfect, considering Sansa is constantly terrified of being beaten, raped, or killed? She does everything she can to make sure she doesn’t draw any undue attention to herself. And wouldn’t it make sense that Sophie seems to be overacting when Sansa’s character is attempting to mask her true emotions when addressed, and give what she thinks is the “right” response if she can? It’s a rhetorical question. It does make sense. It makes perfect sense, and Sophie is doing a terrific job with the crappy lines churned out by this show.
Actually, this OP is dead on, and if people really understood the character they would see that. Sansa is an abuse victim, and as a former victim of domestic, abuse I can assure you she would not be alienating between acting like a whiny brat and a wooden board. She would be doing everything in her power to be pretty and perfect and courteous, all the things her abuser(s) would want her to be. In the books she played this role perfectly. Neither Benioff & Weiss, nor Sophie Turner have done their homework when it comes to #1 - the books and #2 - the behavior of victims of abuse. Nor have the commenters on this post, it seems ~Alayne
